Frequently asked questions

The questions we get asked most, about HowPets, the newsletter and our services.

About HowPets

HowPets is where you get help to work out how to look after your pet. Guides on food, health, behaviour and everyday life, written and checked by vets, trainers and behaviourists. Alongside the advice, we bring you to our other services where you can register a microchip, find a rescue pet and book care when you need it.

Vets, behaviourists and trainers who do this for a living. Every guide is written or reviewed by a named expert, and their name sits at the top of the page so you can see who stands behind it. You can read about all of them on the Experts page.

No. Every guide on HowPets is free to read and you don't need an account to read it. If you go on to book something through one of our other services, you pay there directly. The advice costs you nothing, because we have spent years learning how to help pets and their people, and this is how we share it.

Newsletter

Add your email and hit subscribe.

Practical advice from our team, and a heads-up on the things that catch owners out. Plus heartwarming stories from our other services, and offers from us and the partners we trust. About once a month, and you can unsubscribe any time.

About once a month, and a little more if we have important updates to share with you. We don't email for the sake of it.

There's an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. One click and you're off the list. Nothing else changes - the guides stay free to read.
